Humanitas Foundation Projects – Turning Vision into Action

Since 2002, Humanitas Foundation e. V. Germany has supported practical humanitarian projects that improve lives, strengthen communities and create opportunities for future generations.

Our guiding principle is Helping People to Help Themselves. We believe that effective humanitarian work should not create long-term dependence. It should provide people with education, knowledge, practical skills, essential support and opportunities to build a more independent future.

Education and Training

Education creates opportunities that can last for generations. Our work includes vocational training, school projects, educational initiatives, skills development and youth empowerment. By investing in learning and professional development, we help people gain the knowledge and confidence needed to shape their own future.

Children and Families

Children and families need safety, care and reliable opportunities. Humanitas Foundation e. V. supports humanitarian activities involving orphan care, children’s welfare, family assistance, community outreach and food support. Our aim is to strengthen both individual children and the family and community structures surrounding them.

Community Development

Sustainable development begins within local communities. Our project areas include agricultural initiatives, food distribution, small-business support, microfinance, self-help programmes and practical community development.

We seek to work with local partners and communities rather than impose outside solutions. Their experience, culture and understanding of local conditions are essential for creating lasting and responsible progress.

Health and Prevention

Health is one of the most important foundations of human development. Our work promotes health education, disease prevention, improved access to reliable health knowledge and greater awareness of individual and community well-being.

Through our support for Porta Medika, we are also helping to develop a global health education platform that connects medical information, preventive health, natural medicine and shared community knowledge.

Environment and Sustainability

A healthy environment supports a healthy future. Our areas of interest include environmental awareness, clean-water initiatives, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and responsible care for nature.

Humanitarian development and environmental responsibility belong together. Projects should improve lives today without reducing the opportunities available to future generations.

Future Projects – Building a Better Tomorrow

Our future plans include the Margaret Mbote Memorial Project, created to honour Margaret Mbote’s humanitarian legacy and continue supporting vulnerable children and families through education, care and community development.

In Asia, planned Sri Lanka Development Initiatives will explore future educational, humanitarian and community-based projects that promote self-reliance and create opportunities for future generations.

Further sustainable development projects will focus on long-term solutions involving education, health, clean water, renewable energy, agriculture, community growth and independent livelihoods.

We work together with local communities, respect every culture and individual, and act with compassion, integrity and responsibility. Through carefully developed partnerships and practical action, Humanitas Foundation e. V. seeks to transform humanitarian vision into meaningful and lasting change.
